‘MEWS’ which stands for Micro Experiences for Working Spaces is a new venture started by Helena Nora Vitola-Jones in order to invite discussion and reflection on the science behind working cultures, community and creativity. She describes MEWS as a breath of perspective: A different point of you that is achieved by connecting to the senses in a series of immersive explorations via awareness of materials and movements in personal or collective micro-experiences to create soul replenishing working cultures.
What to expect in a 1hour workshop:
The mark-making experience is suitable for 6 people per group (half hour each group), 12 people in total (we can allow for small flexibility in numbers) starting with a 5-10 minute introduction of materials; inks, brushes, papers, and the nature of materiality and texture suitable for the practice of Ensō which is a spiritual ZEN Buddhist practice, done regularly, by drawing a circle with ink and brush, in full attention and awareness.
Workshops are an ideal family experience. Helena and Richard will be conducting MEWS mark-making workshops both days of the festival. Suitable for adults and children aged 10 upwards.
Work shops are free however you can SIGN UP HERE!
